How it Works
FAQs
-
Telemedicine is the delivery of health care through telecommunications devices. With an internet connection and a device, medical visits can be performed outside the walls of a clinic. Patients can now see their physician and get medical consultation from the comfort and convenience of their home or office.
-
Telemedicine occurs through audio-visual conferencing with your physician. This interaction allows your doctor to visually assess you and obtain a comprehensive medical history. The medical visit can be done through either your home computer, smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Internet connectivity via a Wifi network is required.
-
Telemedicine provides medical care in an efficient, timely manner. Standard brick and mortar clinic visits require significant time commitment and additional costs for patients. These costs include time allocation, transportation costs, lost wages, child care expenses, etc. By shifting the visit to the comfort of your home or office, you avoid many of these costs.
Additionally, communities with limited access to specialty care are often dependent on their local network of healthcare providers. Telemedicine empowers patients by expanding their provider options, expediting diagnosis and treatment, and improving access to high quality specialty care.
